Community rules

These rules apply in every UKChatBox room on Discord and IRC. They're here so everyone can enjoy chatting.

Be respectful

Everyone is welcome. Treat people the way you'd want to be treated. No bullying, harassment, threats, or hateful comments about anyone's race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability or background.

No spam or advertising

Don't flood the room, repeat the same message, or post adverts and invite links nobody asked for. Bots and automated messages need a moderator's say-so first.

Keep it family-friendly

Rooms are family-friendly by default. No sexual content, graphic violence or shock material, and keep swearing to a minimum.

Protect your privacy — and other people's

Don't share anyone's personal details, such as addresses, phone numbers or photos, without their permission. Be careful about what you share about yourself, too.

Nothing illegal

No piracy, scams, cheats, hacked accounts, or "free V-Bucks" style links.

Follow the room topic and the moderators

Keep to the subject of the room you're in. If a moderator asks you to stop or move a conversation, please do. If you disagree with a decision, message a moderator privately rather than arguing in the room.

What happens if rules are broken

Moderators may give a warning, mute or kick you, or ban you from Discord and IRC. Serious problems may lead to an immediate ban.

See something wrong? Message an online moderator on Discord or IRC. If someone is in danger, contact the emergency services on 999.

Using UKChatBox also means following the terms of use, as well as Discord's own rules and the rules of irc4fun.net.
