What this website collects
The ukchatbox.org.uk website is an information page. It has no accounts, forms or comment sections, and it doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies.
Like almost every website, our web host keeps standard server logs. These can include your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time. They are used only to keep the site running and secure, and are deleted automatically by the host after a short period.
Fonts and images are served from our own server, so visiting the site doesn't send your information to font or analytics companies.
Discord and IRC
The chat itself happens on Discord and on the irc4fun.net IRC network. When you follow a link to join, you're using their services and their privacy policies apply:
- Discord privacy policy
- irc4fun.net — see the network's website for its policies
Messages you send in a UKChatBox room are visible to other people in that room. Because the rooms are bridged, messages sent on Discord appear on IRC and the other way around. Moderators may keep logs of the rooms to deal with rule breaking.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what information we hold about you and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. As this website doesn't collect personal details, there is usually nothing to provide. For anything held on Discord or IRC, contact those services directly or ask a moderator.
